Professional Senior Examiner
With nearly two decades in education, Lorna is an all-round specialist who has worn many hats across the full spectrum of Business Studies: classroom teacher, one-to-one tutor, examiner, and resource creator.
As a Senior Examiner for Edexcel, she is responsible not only for marking exams but also for training, supporting, and quality-checking the work of other examiners. This role has given her exceptional insight into how exam responses are judged, what earns full marks, and the common pitfalls that hold students back.
Lorna combines her insider perspective with the experience of a seasoned classroom teacher, giving students both the knowledge and the practical strategies they need to achieve real, measurable progress.
Tutoring Experience
Lorna began tutoring in 2006 alongside her classroom teaching career and has since supported a wide range of learners, from those who struggle with Business Studies to aspiring entrepreneurs and future business leaders. This experience has reinforced her approach that every minute of contact time should be focused and purposeful.
In her classroom career, Lorna played a key role in curriculum development, including setting up and overseeing the introduction of the Edexcel Business 2015 specification and the Edexcel BTEC Certificate in Business at a top-performing UK school.
Today, she works full-time as a professional online tutor while also producing resources for schools and colleges and continuing her work as a Senior Examiner. This blend of roles keeps her closely connected to the evolving demands of the subject, ensuring her students benefit from up-to-date, exam-focused preparation.
