17+ years in education. Professional examiner.
As the ex-head of English at a prestigious international school in Shanghai, Natalie's passion for teaching language and creativity has continued to grow across a rich 17-year career in education across 3 countries. She believes that every student is an individual who deserves tutoring in a way that is unique to their needs and circumstances. Her approach is driven by a passion for language coupled with a firm conviction that the ability for young people to express themselves through written and spoken word is significant and empowering not just for exams, but for life. Language should be fun and engaging, and Natalie consistently strives to bring that to her tutoring process at all times.
Natalie began her teaching career in 2006, earning her PGCE through the Graduate Teaching Program in the South East of England. For nine years, she worked at a high school in England, where she taught KS3, KS4 and A Level English courses. She quickly assumed leadership roles within prestigious international schools, including heading up the Teaching and Learning department and overseeing academic provisions for students outside the mainstream.
In 2015, Natalie embraced the challenge of leading a large English department at a top-tier school in Shanghai, where the Cambridge iGCSE curriculum was followed. She moved to Spain in 2018 and spent five years at a British school there, where she taught iGCSE courses in English Language, Literature, Sociology, and Psychology. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she has served as the Head of Welfare for a secondary school.
Most notably, during her time in Spain, Natalie tutored British students in iGCSE and A Level courses, as well as younger students who were learning English as a Second Language.
BA (Hons) English Literature, University of Hull (First Class Honours)
"To all parents out there, Natalie is gold dust. She works intuitively, but in a structured and engaging way. The change in my daughter was incredible."
"Thanks to Natalie, I am 10 times more excited and confident about the exams and for my studies afterwards. I knew she was always there to help me. Thank you, Natalie, for making me feel calm and prepared, and taking away my stress. I can't thank her enough!"
"I don't know how she did it, but she took me from being a nervous wreck who thought she couldn't do anything to a confident and successful person going off to study my dream course at Uni. She taught me so much and I still can't believe that I got the top grade. I never believed I could. She made me feel like I could do anything, and I am forever grateful! I'll miss her!'
