Oliver
Professional Tutor. 4000+ hours
Holding a first-class degree in Mathematics from the University of Warwick, Oliver has been tutoring since 2014, and worked as a full-time professional in education since 2019.
Thanks to the wide variety of roles that Oliver has taken on – including the creation of A level revision guides and scripting revision podcasts – Oliver has been able to gain a deep knowledge of different maths specifications and curate appropriate foolproof methods and exam tips and tricks. His teaching is meticulous and methodical and works towards meeting exam requirements based on the specific needs of each individual student.
With his strong academic background and vast knowledge of question styles across different curricula, Oliver is ready to empower his students with mathematics, both through independent and guided learning.
Tutoring Experience
Oliver’s exploration into maths education began with elective courses in Imagination and Education while studying, but has since included work in preparing professional exam packs, ed-podcast scripting, and, of course, professional tutoring.
Further to a vast array of industry experience, Oliver’s teaching approach benefited greatly from a period in which he resided in Taiwan, gaining proficiency in Mandarin and developing an extraordinary ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds. With a sincere belief in the power of education, Oliver kindly stepped up to the mark during the first lockdown period, providing maths assistance to disadvantaged students from his own country: the UK.
