Alex
Professional Maths Tutor
Alex is a First-class Mathematics graduate from Imperial College with over 4 years and 1500+ hours of tutoring experience. He has a proven track record of boosting grades, success in selective school entrance exams, and improving all-round mathematical confidence for all ages and abilities. He became a tutor because he believes that mathematical literacy is a fundamental skill all children should acquire, and that it is achievable for any student with the right approach.
Alex's lessons have a distinct lack of rigidity: Whilst his classes often start with questions/topics the student has encountered at school, they often develop on the fly, with Alex utilising his years of experience to explain concepts and ask questions that specifically catered to the student's ability and needs.
Alex believes that mathematics is only learnt through hands-on practice, which is why his lessons revolve around student-teacher collaboration inside an online whiteboard. This approach to tutoring keeps his lessons interactive, interesting and effective.
Tutoring Experience
Alex has been tutoring consistently since 2019 and has completed over 3000 hours of lessons since moving his entire student body online with JTC Education. With over 4 years of experience, he has developed an extensive knowledge of how to make online tutoring even more effective than in-person tutoring. His recent success stories include students gaining admission to top independent British schools such as Eton, Harrow, City of London and SevenOaks, alongside numerous GCSE/IGCSE students achieving, on average, 2 grades higher from when they started their lessons with Alex.
