Our IB DP tutors have seen hundreds of students through the ups and downs of the entirety of the IB Diploma Programme. In light of this, they are able to assist in the teaching and revision of all IB Diploma Programme subjects, as well as advise on Internal Assessments, TOK Essays and Extended Essays. Balancing a total of six subjects and eight essays, the IB Diploma Programme is a workload-heavy route into university, and a slow and steady approach with a clear plan is always the optimal strategy. The support of a professional IB tutor, to help accelerate the learning process and improve a student’s attention to detail in each subject, can help improve student performance across all subjects and assessments.
At JTC Education, we are able to offer support across multiple IB subjects, both at standard and higher level. Our professional IB tutors can teach Maths AA, Maths AI, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English (Literature and Language), Spanish, French, Economics, Computer Science, History, Geography. We offer assistance not only with subject content but also with Internal Assessments (IAs) to ensure students receive well-rounded support throughout their IB journey.
IB DP students appreciate the relatively accelerated and effective nature of online learning compared to traditional in-person instruction. This format provides an added level of flexibility within their demanding schedules. Moreover, many students find that the experience of studying online equips them with the ability to navigate the remote nature of university courses and professional roles later in life, aligning with the expectations of an ever-evolving world.
JTC Education is able to provide additional support in demanding entrance exams such as STEP, PAT and other subjects, for entrance to top UK universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial etc.. We further offer pre-university courses to help bridge the gap between university and A level, which has helped many students hit the ground running when taking this step.
The workload in the IB Diploma Programme is generally considered higher than that of A levels, although the subject depth is marginally less. In A levels, students need only learn 3 subjects to apply for university, while in the IB DP students must take 6 subjects, complete 6 essays (one for each subject) and two further essays (the extended essay and TOK essay).
The IB Diploma Programme is an excellent choice for all-rounded students that wish to continue learning subjects that cover multiple disciplines, from language through to art through to science. The requirement to complete Internal Assessments for each subject further offers students the opportunity to refine their writing ability. Tutoring support from professional IB Diploma tutors can help all students navigate the high demands of this programme.
Top universities aim to make their application processes as fair as possible, hence intend to set roughly equivalent entrance requirements for IB and A level students alike. Nevertheless, due to the different nature of the courses, certain students may find a given path easier than another. For a student that is particularly gifted in STEM subjects, they may find A levels an easier path as they can focus solely on the STEM subjects they are strongest; on the other hand, a student that is strong across the board, and enjoys essay-writing and exploration, may find they excel more naturally within the IB DP.
