Professional Examiner. 20+ years in Education
Alexia brings to JTC Education a wealth of expertise and exam-focused methodologies that can only be attributed to those who have passionately dedicated a career of over 20 years to the teaching of their subject. With a Master’s in Education from the Institute of Education, and an MEd in Educational Leadership, Alexia has taught Geography across all key stages, as well as presently working as a senior examiner for both GCSE and A Level Geography exam boards, and has served as Deputy Head at a prestigious UK school.
Alexia’s contagious passion for geography is rooted in a deep sense of discovery and exploration, but her teaching is always coupled with a sharp focus on exam technique, meeting assessment objectives, and equipping her students with an optimal framework to excel under pressure. Her success stories speak for themselves with one of her students achieving the highest mark in the world for Development Studies IGCSE.
Tutoring Experience
With over 20 years of classroom experience in both State and Independent schools in the UK, Alexia’s fluency and comfort with the nuance of each major exam board has allowed hundreds of students across all key stages, as well as in IGCSE Travel and Tourism and Environmental Management, to benefit from her guidance.
Alexia has extensive experience marking both A-Level and GCSE papers and is currently a Team Leader Senior Examiner for A-Level Geography Paper 1.
Now with more than 5 years working as a full-time online professional tutor, online learning spaces have become Alexia’s new home as she continues to inspire and prepare students worldwide in Geography.
