With a 1st Class science degree from the University of Cambridge, Luke has an innate passion for science and learning and prides himself on hard work and consistency. Luke has a systematic approach to tutoring, focusing on understanding important scientific concepts from first principles and applying this knowledge to the wide range of exam questions that can come up in line with each specification. Luke also enjoys helping students with their applications to Oxbridge, having provided dozens of students through the years with personal statement advice and interview preparation, many of whom are now medical students at Oxbridge.
Luke has been tutoring KS3 and GCSE Science since 2016. One amongst various successes includes bringing one student from A level 5 to a level 8 by the time of their final GCSE Chemistry. Luke has given dozens of mock interviews each year for medicine and biological science courses at Oxbridge, and has long provided individualised advice and preparation for admissions processes.
“Luke really inspired me with my GCSEs from year 9 to year 11. I was initially failing in Chemistry but ended up with a Level 8 with his help. His strategies for exams also helped me in my other subjects, meaning I managed to achieve the grades across the board to get into the Sixth Form I wanted to go to. I couldn’t have done this without his help.”
“Despite achieving 4A*s at A level, I didn’t receive an offer from Cambridge or any other medical school. I took a gap year and started working with Luke whilst I reapplied to Cambridge. We did many mock interviews and he provided me with invaluable advice. I have now received an offer from the college I applied to and will be starting in October! Thanks for all the help.”
"Luke had an incredible influence for my son during their Year 8 science studies. At the beginning, my child was struggling in Chemistry and Physics in particular, but with Luke's guidance, they managed to do really well in their final exams. I feel like he taught my son how to revise more than any tutors he had before him."
