Full-time professional tutor
A Cambridge Economics graduate turned full-time professional tutor, Sam joined the JTC Education team to help students reach their potential in economics and maths. Having accrued over 1600+ teaching hours, he has a systematic method of tutoring that has proven successful with students of all abilities and all backgrounds.
Working alongside a team of independent examiners to provide parents and students with objective feedback, Sam is able to accurately assess progress and areas of weakness at regular intervals throughout the year; it is this personalised feedback that enables students to accelerate their progress with him.
Within this structured framework, Sam still believes in applying concepts to the real world wherever possible, creating an engaging learning environment and helping students form a deeper understanding of the subject.
Tutoring Experience
A full-time professional tutor, Sam has taught a wide range of syllabi including Edexcel, AQA, Eduqas, OCR and IB. The relationships he maintains with professional examiners for various exam boards and across various economics curricula have allowed him a deep understanding of the nuances of each.
At university level he has supported students attending prestigious institutions, such as Duke in the US and Oxford in the UK. He enjoys assisting students to overcome the complexities associated with this level of study.
In essay competitions, Sam has supported students shortlisted for both the Marshall and John Locke essay competitions, the latter attracting over 19,000 submissions with fewer than 100 shortlisted.
