Xixi is an honour graduate in Economics and Management from the University of Oxford, self-taught herself A level Economics back in 2019, achieving an A* grade through the successful decoding the requirements of the exam board. Since her university graduation, Xixi has split her time between tutoring and business roles, bringing the strategic approach in the latter to the former so as to give her economics students clear and actionable advice.
As an essay-based subject, Xixi views a successful economics tuition strategy as two-pronged: (1) the tackling of content, and (2) the understanding of exam technique (namely, how to structure long-form and essay responses as a function of the exam board) . For the first, Xixi uses interactive whiteboards for diagrammatic analysis, linking and maintaining a spreadsheet of how each key diagram links to current affairs for embellishment in the application part of essays. For the 2nd, Xixi maintains a strong and clear focus on how to pick out primary and secondary exam keywords with a view to scoring knowledge, application, analysis and evaluation points in line with each curricula’s marking requirements.
